First off how crazy is it that this is the last season! After 6 years (amazing 6 years) they will end the show and answer our questions! That is pretty dope! But now for some thoughts on lost...FYI there are SPOLIER ALERTS for those who haven’t seen the latest episode The Substitute. Many spoilers for other one but you’ve had time to see them now!

1st: what is going on with the parallel universe thingy? Well we knew things would be different this seasons. They hit us with flash back and showed how each person was connected to one another. Then they hit us with the flash forwards where we saw the life these people would lead after they left. Now we are getting what some call the flash sideways. Something that is happening at the same time. I hear the writers are not calling it a parallel universe because that would infer they were different. So some freaky lost stuff but I think it works. There is so much different about this universe yet so much familiar as well. The interactions we see with the others (who never made it to the island) and the losties (who also never made it to the island) is a great thing to see this season. (Desmond and Jack…I know Desmond wasn’t an other but he was on the island before the crash, Goodspeed and Claire, and now SPOLIER ALERT!!! Locke and Ben.) So is this universe a What If… or is it really what is happening? One note not my own but from Doc Jensen’s All about lost theory’s he points out how it seems The Sideways universe does have some connections with the island (kate see jack at the airport and has a look of…I think I know you, or jack meets desmond and they talk like they have met in the past!), plus something with mirrors in restrooms has been a theme this year (Jack looking in the mirror on the plane, Kate looking at the mirror in the gas station and SPOLIER ALERT!!! Locke looks in the mirror in the bathroom) I think it will all come together on a specific date for lost. (Special numbers! 4,8,15,16,23,42, 108)

2nd: So what is smoky/MIB/fLocke/Locke-ness monster? New and old question! We have seen big smoky since early on and now we are finding out more about him…but new questions arise based on the last episode (The Substitute) He makes some statements about himself (SPOILER ALERT!!!) I was once a man…I know how to feel…blah blah blah! So was he was a person that some how got suckered into being the island’s hitman? My belief about the feelings is that he knows them because of the identities he has taken on. But there are great theory’s on this out there. I love it though that the big smoky now has a character and identity. I loved in the substitute how you see this playing out.

3rd: Jacob…is he “God” of the island? And now is he dead? This is probably the greatest question that will be answered because I think this is the key to the whole island. Obviously we have heard the name Jacob for a while. He has had a presence on the island and in the lives of the plane crash survivors. Who is Jacob and why is he the islands “guardian” or “leader”? I believe that we will find out what the island is through Jacob. I think he along with smoky, Richard, and the dead spirits all play specific roles on this island and Jacob kind of takes on the main role here. We get and idea SPOILER ALERT!!! That Jacob brought the Losties there because he believes that they could replace him and possibly others to watch over and lead the island. I can’t wait to see this play out and see where the Jacob and Locke-ness story goes.

EDIT: Thought i forgot was what is up with the island in the sideways universe...it was underwater like we saw the first minutes of the opening episode...What happened? did the bomb sink it? if so why was so much of the island still intact? Great question that i am sure will be answered!

Well just a few thoughts. I have loved it so far…maybe knowing it will all end helps me enjoy each episode even more. All the little nuances in these episodes have been great as well (killer whale, polar bears…all the little easter eggs!). How will it end…most say everyone will die…I think some how the sideways universe will collide with the island universe where they will have all these memories of each other and remember the island. Although I love how Doc Jensen says it will end:

HOW WILL JOHN LOCKE'S STORY END?
His resolution is this: In the end, Locke will be resurrected and given eternal life and will assume Jacob's role in the Island's function. As I said two weeks ago: I predict the final scene of Lost will be a redux of the Jacob/Man In Black conversation on the beach scene from last season's finale — instead this time, it'll be John Locke in Jacob's place. As for his adversary, he'll be wearing a new identity — that of Benjamin Linus. It ends with this:

Fake Ben: Do you know how badly I want to kill you right now?

And then Locke looks at him with a knowing glint — and they laugh

Well that’s all I have for now. I am very pleased with this show and how its going to end. I want to buy the first 5 seasons now and watch them all in some crazy marathon. Here is a link to some great insight on Lost and where I get some of my info from…and where I got the hopeful ending.

http://www.ew.com/ew/package/0,,20313460,00.html

ODST

ODST came out Tuesday September 22nd. On Friday Sept 25th I beat the game on Heroic. Now I am playing it out again on Legendary. Here is my review of the game and what I have played on it so far.

So as soon as I got the game I was excited. Many said its another Halo game…what’s gonna be good about this one…or whatever it doesn’t have the Master Chief so its gonna suck. Recently I’ve been getting more into the stories of Halo and reading the books. So I was supper excited to play this game. *SPOILER ALERTS!* I won’t give to much away but I will have some stuff from the game.

It starts out on the ship with your team of ODST ( Orbital Drop Shock Troopers) being prepped for the jump. As you jump, a slipstream disrupts you and your teams path. Then black…

You awaken and you start off. You play as the Rookie, but you encounter things that bring about flashbacks. During the flashback you play as other members of the team you were on. This is a unique part of the game. Each character is in there own unique situation and each one is trying to find other teammates. I think this brings a lot to Halo and the stories. We see Other soldiers who actually talk and have a story to bring…the Master Chief has a lot but we don’t see it in the first 3 Halo’s. Anyways this part makes the game fun. Fighting is different…you are not as strong so you have to take cover much more…the game has a different strategy because of this. Ammo is sparse so finding it and learning what will work (ex. Plasma to take down brute armor) is key.

The story of the Rookie is wide open…there are closed off areas of the maps but a lot of open space to explore as well. Hidden items and weapon caches are scattered through out the city. These are worth searching for and will come in handy. Grenades because your best friend as well. Sticky grenades are a quick way to eliminate enemies.

Firefight mode is new and fun. It’s basically a survival mode where enemies come and your goal is to not die. I was playing by myself and survived for over an hour before I had to go and eat…so that will be fun to get on live and play with people.

SO great game play…graphics are top…story is awesome. Overall…amazing.

Game play 9/10

Graphics 10/10

Story 9.5/10

Overall 9.5/10

Thanks for reading…more post to come.

One day at a time

So i want to be a Big Loser....a giangantic one infact! Let me go back a few thoughts...right now i am working on losing some wieght. I've gain a bit a wieght of the last few years and its been disapointing. I've told myself i would lose wieght and haven't done anything, haven't changed anything, until now. I've put my self on a pretty tight calorie program, trying to count everything i eat as well as exercise i do. So my staring wieght was 280. that was monday. THis morning i wieght 275. So i already lost 5 pounds. My goal is 250 by October and 220 eventually. but i wanted to set a goal i know i can reach first. So i am not aon a diet but i am counting my calories. Making sure i am keeping them low. I am watching my portions as well. Being very picky about keeping close to what a portion is. With that i also am running 3 times a week a walking daily. Its only been 3 days but with the help of my awesome wife (who also is doing this with me to support me) i think that i'll be good. And i am not losing wieght because i want to be skinny. I am looking at the health risk of being this heavy. So anyways like i said i want to be a Gigantic loser!

Ed, Farra, Jacko...Billy Mays

Wow what a crazy week with the celebrity deaths...lots of famous peeps are dieing and getting a lot of news for it. The one i think that has been crazy is Jackos death. I know he's huge and he did a lot for music...but come on. Its Micheal "i like to sleep with children, i have a monkey as my bff, i want the elaphant mans bones" Jackson. People seem to foget hte whacky when someone dies, but what made me most...distraught...sad...and just mad at this was the way its was being reported. I was watching the evening news and fliped to a few news chanels as well...all i saw was coverage on michael jacksons death...not the stuff going on in Iran with people rioting and dieing, not the fact that crazy north korea wants to nuke hawaii on the 4th, nothing that really maters! What about all the other people in the world that died as well on that day. Yes i understand it was news...but the first 15-20 mins of the evening news dedicated to him...A man that was a sicko and had some wierd habbits and likes...i just don't get it and it makes me sad to see what we as a society want to hear about...we talk about being so in touch with things and wanting to bring peace to the world...yet we don't want to know whats really happening. We care about 1 person dieing rather than the thousands who are dieing, who are dieing for what they believe in. Not dieing because they wouldn't eat right and was taking pain pills...if the world ends when the mians say it will...then i hope people start changing there views soon

Movie reviews and life as i see it

So once again i am starting this up...its been a while since i posted. Not much as far as life with me has happened but i do want to just to give updates. So I've been wanted to write a review for the movie "X-men Origin - Wolverine" but i took a long time because i wanted to really want to absorb what i saw on screen...being a fan of the comic character Wolverine. So here is what i have to say about it officially:
7 out of 10. I think i give it that much because its wolverine. The movie is exciting and some cool action sequences...it follows the origins pretty closely. But it veers off a bit and the story didn't seemed a developed as i would have liked it. Wolverine is a character with a lot of darkness in his past. A lot happened to him before he got to the point that the movie took over. I know they didn't want to cover this...it would have been way to much, but still...they rushed alot of stuff t get to the adimantium on his bones. And sabertooth and a brother...not digging on that. I know everyone says it is implied in the origins story on wolverine comics but its never a definite. To have them be brothers makes since, because they both have extreem healing factors but there are other explinations for that likeness (same heritage...)So brothers...not digging that. The bone claws looked crappy and the metal claws claws looked worse too me. Deadpool got too little time (he should have had his own movie to beggin with) and the other guys...wasn't digging their characters much either. Leiv as Sabertooth though was perfect to me. He portrayed the cunning and smart sabertooth,...not the lame ogre sabertooth from the xmen movie. and now huge jackman...i thought he was good in the xmen movies, but now he seems lame as the character. idon't believe he has gone through hell and back...i don't believe hes a trained killer. I just don't like him as wolverine. If you read the comics i think you can agree with me...huge jackman is no wolverine. Glen Danzig should have been wolverine....but thats a whole nother thing. So anyways that is my rambling on wolverine. Now i finished it i think i convinced my self it should be like 6 out of 10 instead.

So on a little more serious note...Our pastor Kevin gave a great message out of Philipians 2:1-2 today about God's goodness, striving for that, and the church united in one purpose...Glorifying God in all we do. I love our church and thats that for now.

silly putty...hours of fun and hurting hands

So i just got some silly putty...i know its old school and its a strange thing to get...but i never realized how much fun silly putty is...its a great stress reliever as well. Just sitting at my desk squeezing it helps the day pass a little bit faster. And when i'm stressed...just squeezing and pulling it helps. Its also fun to make shapes and watch it melt back into a putty. Its truely the solid liquid. But warning...if you squeeze it all day your hands will hurt. I was typing and my hands felt very heavey and i couyldn't figure out why, until i started to squeeze my putty again...so yeah just wanted to share my random thought on the most entertaining thing i have right now (even more then my xbox, ipod, iphone, car, dvds, and whatever) silly putty is awesome!

The Punisher, Ants and Freezing weather

Ok so my next writing has a few random unrelated and yet totally related topics. So first I saw the Movie "The Punisher War Zone" last weekend. Its based on the comic series the Punisher. So being a comic based film i wanted to see it. I knew that it wasn't going to be great...but wow...So the story was interesting enough, but no development in character, and the guy who played the lead...well lets say they didn't let him say much, he just killed people. Anyways not going to get to much into it but lets just say stay away from this one...can't they just make one good punisher movie? i guess not. 3.5 out of 10

So ants...we have them in our house...i don't want ants in my house. When I was a kid about 3 or 4 i was almost killed by a swarm of fire ants that attacked me...so i hate ants. they seem to be coming out of the wood works...i found one area they were coming from and took care of that...then they found another one to come out of...took care of that as well...and now a new one. This needs to stop. I know its not the end of my world but they are gross and creepy and all that...so any suggestions??? i'd take them. I know how to take them out but how do i get rid of the ones who haven't arrived yet?

Freezing? yes its is freezing here...i am wearing gloves and a beanie...even shoes! and they say there is global warming...This morning our grass was white...it was froze...all the roof tops are white with frozen dew and stuff...it would snow probably if it was raining, but it would also proceed to melt right away.

So how does this all relate...because its cold the ants are looking for food and trying to get in...they have been at this over the last week when the temps really dropped. And my wife has called me the punisher of the ants...as i bring them to justice by killing them for invading my house...so thats how i weaved together this whole little story. Thank you for listening. Next time, maybe something more serious. maybe not though...

PS Thanks Sam! I knew you read these...i still keep up with yours as well...and yes facebook has changed the way the world is...:)

June 25th...last post...sad

So i haven't posted...maybe i'm not sure what to write...i don't have much going on and i'm not this witty great writer, but today i decided screw all that...i'll write whatever...if someone reads it great...if no one does thats ok i just wanted to write something...so here i go. So we can truely say myspace re-united us! anyways lots of stuff happened to us over the years but now for the last 2 years we have been trying to regain what we lost in time with each other as well as just trying to be brothers. So anyways he was having his wedding this weekened in San Diego and it was great. Everyone was really happy at the wedding...close friends and family came out to this so lots of fun. But then comes the wierdness for me...first not wierd but good i have a half sister as well. She is autistic, but very high functioning. So it was great to see her. She was very sweet and you could tell she missed me and out dad very much. So it was a joy to sit next to her and have her talk my ear off almost the entire time! :)

so next i met my nephews. My brother has two kids who are my nephews. Very odd and strange. They both are from two differnt mothers like me and Craig (my brother). Watching them interact reminded me of me and my bro when i was little. I really looked up to him and loved him as a kid...but as we got older and our lives went there sperate was we grew apart. As i saw Coby and Damian playing, i was hoping this wouldn't happen to them. They are brothers and need each other.

So what also at this wedding i was sat at the "family" table with craigs mom Fay (whom i never knew and only knew of as a crazy lady) and his step dad (nice man) and craigs grandparents (who were Fay's parents) So this may seem like well you know them and stuff...i never really knew any of them. Plus when i started thinking...all these people knew my dad. Fay was his first wife...therefore her parents knew him pretty well...which was a very odd thought that my dad probably sat at a table with these people much like i was. it was all a little over whelming for me at times but i bore through it and enjoyed myself. Everyone was nice and it made it easy.

Next up during the day...i met Mike...Craigs uncle...Fays brother and one of my Dads closest friends growing up. Now this was very strange and odd. Because he knew my dad before i did...before my mom did...He had a lot of stories from when they were younger that i have never heard. I really didn't know what to say to this man. It was just hard to stand there chit chating with him. But to think there are people that could tell me more about my dad was a cool thought.

So that was the wedding for me. A little strange and over whelming but a great time. A day i won't forget.

In and unrelated note I stumbled across this article...just for those who may not know i work for an abstinence education program so i actually actively look for stuff like this but this is an article about teens getting pregnant on purpose in a little town in main or massachusets or something

http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1815845,00.html
Its kind of sad but i've talked to people who feel this way and feel like the only love they will get is from there baby...

May 19th

So i haven't had a comp or internet for a few days but i really wanted to post this yestarday...
May 19, 1991 at about 730 am my dad lost his fight with cancer. He had passed away moments after i saw him at the hospital. Its a day i can never forget...no matter what i do i can still remember the feeling of rushing to the hospital that morning...the smells as we ran through the hallways to see my dad...and the sounds coming from his room...my mom crying, and my dad just fighting long enough to see me, he litterally died in my arms. Its something you never want to happen and at the age of 10 it happened to me. So today 17 years later i still get a lil wierd on this day. I had to go into class rooms and tell my story of my dad without breaking down and letting people know that this was the day he actually died. I didn't feel hungry most of the day just thinking about him... Its been 17 years now...it never gets easier. But i look at that situation and believe it shapped me to be the person i am today. I believe in my heart that God used his death in my life...By taking away my earthly father...i was able to meet my spiritual father, a father that will always be there for me. I truely miss my dad...buti rejoice in the fact that i have a father in heaven who knows me and what i need.

Graudation day

So 3 years ago today...may 14th i graduated from college. Big deal for me...it only took 6 years but i did it. It was a proud moment for me and my mom. She just had some much joy and was proud of me. So this is a big thing also because i was the first person in my family that graduated college. So this is kind of nostalgic thinking about it...two weeks from today i got married as well! :) so it was an exciting day for me 3 years ago.

Citizenship, Homes, and Jason Castros Guitar

So a few things i wanted to write about. Lots of actions...lots of laughs. Robert Downey Jr. did an amazing Job portraying Tony Starks...Genius and Billionair playboy, who eventually becomes Iron Man. Its hard to believe that about 2 years ago we were thinking this could never happen, and buying a home is in our wildest dreams! but the market has looked good for buyers...and before it starts to make it turn we thought we'd test the waters! Well after about 2 or 3 weeks of looking we found one. We actually found 2 that we liked, but only one of those we loved and it was the one we got. Its a 3 bedroom 2 bath house. Very open and spacious. Its just an exciting blessing for God. We are so happy to have this oppurtunity to be home owners. We won't get to move in until around May 10th, so still about 3 weeks or so, but we are in escrow, we have had inspections and everything looks amazing! So now just have to wait for the paper work and all the things to go through on this house! So if you want more info feel free to ask and i'll let you know, but for now...we have a house! :)

Birthday

Birthdays are great...but fopr me my birthday hasn't really been a thing for me until the last few years when i met Alison and she decided to show me love on my b-day. But my b-day has been wierd for me...a before my 9th my dad was diagnosed with kidney cancer. That was hard for me. Then a year later on my 10th my dad was sent to the hospital...that was the last day he would see me outside the hospital. So i've always felt like my b-day was just another day filled with hard memories...and yes i still have some hard memories...thats why i wrote this to get them off my chest, But God has been so good to me and he's given me some great friends and family that love me. One thing i love is my mom calls me no matter what on this day at 10:10am cuz thats when her pain ended and iwas born...i guess i should call her and appologize! :) so anyways thats all for b-day wishes...its much appriciated.

one day closer

So i'm 26...one day from 27...getting closer to 30...this thought wierds me out...for all who are 30...no disrespect...but man thats close to being old. My wife said i was having a quarter life crisis. Which i said, "No its mid life...i'm dieing by 50." She didn't think it was funny. I did. So anyways i'm ok, just the thought of being 30 is strange. Its excitingm but man i won't be in my 20 much longer. I remember still being a teen. Don't miss those days, but my 20's have been great. Had my first drink...legally...made some amazing friends, graduated college, got married, moved to NorCal, found a job talking about sex, and there is still time for more to happen. So the day before i turn 27 i decide i will make the most of my youthfulness at 27. A lil something from JEW to remember

Are you gonna live your life wonderin' standing in the back lookin' around?
Are you gonna waste your time thinkin' how you've grown up or how you missed out?
Things are never gonna be the way you want.
Where's it gonna get you acting serious?
Things are never gonna be quite what you want.
Or even at 25, you gotta start sometime.
I'm on my feet, I'm on the floor, I'm good to go.
Now all I need is just to hear a song I know.
I wanna always feel like part of this was mine.
I wanna fall in love tonight.

Jimmy Eat World - A Praise Chorus

Lost again

http://www.ew.com/ew/allabout/0,,20000067,00.html

this is a link to a guys site where he reviews lost...now this guy is nuts...he seems to have some great insight on this show and he is very well read so he picks up on many things (like Charlotte Staple Lewis referencing C.S. So if you are a fan please read his site. i think you'll learn a lot about the lost universe and how complex it is...and that will make you appreciate the show even more.

So this season has been a spark for Lost...i was losing interest last season but they have just made the show fresh and new...i want to go out now and buy the first three seasons (even though i wasn't a huge fan of last season...the way it play into this one makes it essential) So last episode they completely turned it inside out for me once again...i actually have to see it again to have an opinion on it because the end i was left confused...now i know what happened, but why couldn't i see it! they did a great job with this episode and i am excited to watch it again!

How does God know everything?

This is truly a questions that we will all have until the end of time...and even beyond. Well I've been reading this bible in a year program and i was reading Matthew, Specifically verses 23-25. Basically Jesus telling us of the end of time, and a few parables about it. In 25:31-46 it says this

31"But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne.
32"All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats;
33and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left.
34"Then the King will say to those on His right, 'Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
35'For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in;
36naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.'
37"Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink?
38'And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You?
39'When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?'
40"The King will answer and say to them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.'
41"Then He will also say to those on His left, 'Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels;
42for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink;
43I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.'
44"Then they themselves also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?'
45"Then He will answer them, 'Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.'
46"These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life."

Now people interpret this verse so many ways...I don't want to get into that because well...you wouldn't want to read everything i could say about this, but i just wanted to say something. Verse 35-36 really hit me. Not because i think that you need to do works to gain salvation...because you don't. Works should come naturally out of you faith in God...which is all from God...another long topic that many would love to discuss...it was more of the praticle since though of this. Just simply helping people because of what God has done for you...I can't count how many times i've driven by people and just ignored them...even when they really needed help. On Sunday after church God gave me an oppurtunity to live this out. A man was broken on the freeway and was pushing his truck...a small UHaul basically...well i pulled over to help. And he seemed very apprcitive. It was a hot afternoon and the man was probablly in his late 50's or so...As i drove by this verse was tugging at me to stop...and like i said not because i think thats how i'll get into heaven...but because of what Jesus has done for me...and what he has given me. Like i said he was very appriciative of the help and even gave me a card with his business saying if i needed anything to let him know...that was a nice gestur...i would never do something like that for something in return but it was nice. So anyways how did God know that verse was tugging at my heart and how did he set it up that i could help someone in need? well its obviously him who did all this...but its still crazy to think...and like i said one more time...I don't think what i did ment that i'm better or that i have gain a lil more salvation...but the joy of just helping someone out...because Jesus in turn helped me...makes it good!

Weather

SO the weather is crazy! We were planning to help out at a community project. It was a graffiti clean up project with Santa Rosa Police Department...and its been raining. Today was going to be the day to determine and its been kind of a nice day. A little rain here and there but as i'm typing sun shine outside. But we still had to cancel because of previous rain and "possible" rain. There is an 80% chance of rain tomorrow...thats huge but if it doesn't rain then we just missed out on helping the community! oh well what are you going to do...blame it on the rain?

Assassins Creed

Well I just got done playing Assassins Creed. It’s a game for the XBOX 360 that came out late last year. When I saw it I knew I wanted to play it because it looked amazing. So I bought it with my Christmas money. So I’m going to give a little review of the game. I’ll break down a few elements and then give it a final rating out of 10.

Story
So the story was pretty good. You are an Assassin in the present time and you have been abducted by a company that wants to know some secrets. They believe that people hold the memories to their ancestors. So they are looking for something lost in the Holy Land. Ok so great premise of the story. So most of the game play is in the past. The story progress well in the game play but the story in the present is slow and almost pointless. You go through scenes in the present that are you walking around and reading e-mails. So that part was very dull. When you beat the game…well you’re left wondering. The story is sort of resolved in the game play, but the story in the present has no ending. OXM rates this end as the worst of the year…and I’d have to agree. You don’t even realize that it ends. It may setup a sequel game but still there could have been some resolution. 8/10 for game play 3/10 for present

Gameplay
So the gameplay is fun. The tutorial was long, but a little needed. The controls are a little hard but once you get them its fun. Exploring is fun and fight is fun, but gets repetitive as you go through the game. You save citizens, pickpocket, kill people…Its fun but don’t try to do it all at one time. Spread it out so you don’t feel like your doing the same stuff. The flags are a little crazy too. They are spread out all over the land and hard to find. I suggest using a website or map to find them all. 8/10

Graphics.
Simply amazing. The graphics were stunning. You climb to the highest heights and take a leap of faith off. Visual this game will satisfy. You play the game from the 3rd person over the shoulder action view…you’d know this if you do…anyways the visuals are amazing. The landscape is beautiful and the scenery is outstanding. This would be a good enough reason to play this game. 10/10

So over all I game this game an 8/10 It could have been lower because of the ending, but all the other elements are great and were able to keep this game a solid game. So anyways hope you appreciate this review. And hope it helps you in deciding on this game.

It is well with my soul

Today at church Kevin was preaching on joy. He was preaching out of Ecclesiastes 11. I was leading worship with Alison and we try to do songs about joy…mainly hymns because I wanted to do them but stuff like I Stand Amazed and You Are My King (Amazing Love). The last song I did was It Is Well With My Soul. Today during the service one of our members found out his father died. He was 90 and had a full life, but to lose a loved one is hard no matter what. So I was thinking of him as we went up to sing this song. I had looked up the history to this song and the author because I knew he had a crazy story. His son died at 4, he was a lawyer and had real estate that was all wiped out during the Chicago fires. After trying to help people out he wanted to take a vacation. He sent his family ahead and all four of his daughters drowned when the boat hit another boat. Only his wife lived. After all that and traveling to meet his wife he was moved, as they were passing the area where the boat sank, to pen the word to this song. I told that story before we sang, not to make people feel bad, but to see the joy that is found in the Lord. I wanted everyone to think of the words and the man who wrote them and what he was going through, and how he would say it is well with my soul Lord. I hope this song helped our church member deal with his father death. I actually was getting choked up thinking of my dads death, and how his death was able to bring me to the Lord. I wasn’t a believer before then, but afterwards I was searching for answers and the Lord drew me to Him. He showed me He was enough. It was through His sons death I would be able to say these words…It is well, with my soul.

Lakers

I wanted to wait a little while before i gave my opinion on the Lakers and there trade. I wanted to let it play out, see how things happened. I can say that i was very excited when i heard it. I hated Kwamee Brown since the begining. Even when he played like 2 good games i knew he was a bust. I always like Pau Gasol. I alway felt he was a strong player and need to be in a good system. Now we got rid of Kwamee which is great. He was just horible. One of the biggest disapointments ever to play the game. We traded up big time for Pau who is a legit all star. He has struggled at times and can hardly play defence...but he still got a solid game, and his D is still solid. With Him at the Power, Lamar at Small, Bynum at Center, Kobe and Shooting and D-Fish at Point we have a solid starting lineup that can man up with anyone in the league. And the bench is solid as well. Famar WILL be a solid point for years to come. Ronny is pure hustle and no one can deny his heart and his style of play...kinda like AC Green...Mihm will be a good backup center...Sasha is a spark and a solid shooter...nopt the best but good. And you have many other back ups that'll help the Lakers. So i think this year...West Confrence Finals VS the Spurs and losing in 6. Next year the Championship with Bynum leading the way(never thought i'd say that)

Flyleaf

Theres a game called Rock Band...its super cool if you haven't played it...anyways theres a group called Flyleaf whose song "I'm So Sick" is on the game...the first time i heard it i knew i loved it...so i checked them and they are awesome. They have a female vocalist who has a cool voice. She has some great power behind it. The band rocks too. The music is Hard Rock i guess...some would say metal...whatever it is check them out. If you like Chevelle...they kind of have a sound like that with a female vocalist. Eli Manning, Junior Seau, Rodney Harrison, Wes Welkers - All former Chargers. Why does this matter. It doesn't but I'm a chargers fan and this was interesting to me. Eli was actually drafted and then traded to the Giants for Philip Rivers and two drafts that would become Nate Kading and Shawn Merriman so yeah...

2. The Patriots ended offically at 18-1. They are the third team to do that...so winning 18 wasn't a first, but winning 18 in a row was. They also are the first team to finish 18-1 and NOT win the Superbowl. The other teams were the 1984 49ers and the 1985 Bears. Both won the superbowl.

3. This is the second straight superbowl a Manning won. Big brother Peyton won it last year (beat the pats in the AFC Championship) and little brother Eli won it this year.

4. The Giant are the first team to start the season 0-2 and win the superbowl. Usually teams start 0-2 and don't make the playoffs.

5. Jeff Feagles of the Giants is the oldest player to every play the Superbowl. (41 years old)

6. This was Junior Seau 2nd superbowl. His first was with the chargers at Superbowl XXIX where they were blown out by the 49ers. His second was this one where his team lost again. He is 38years old.

7. Michael Strahann played in his second Superbowl winning this one. His first was Superbowl XXXV where they lost to the Ravens.

8. The Combination of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady had never lost a Superbowl game (3-0) before this one (3-1)

9. Plaxico Burress guarantied a Win in this game with a score of 23-17. The Final score was 17-14.

10. The Giants lost there first two games...Lost Tiki Barber, their star running back who retired early...Michael Strahann nearly retired at the begining of the season...Eli Manning's leadership was being questions left and right...Tom Cofflin, there coach had to practically beg for his job...and they go on to beat the previously unbeaten partiots and win the Superbowl.

11. The Giants played the Patriots 3 times this year: 1st a loss 27-20 at the end of the pre-season. 2nd a loss 38-35 at the end of the regular season. 3rd a win, 17-14 at the end of the post season...the Superbowl. The only game that really mattered.

12. The Chargers will come back next year and win the superbowl! They will go 13-3 and come into the playoff hot winning the superbowl....not a fact but a predictions.

Untracable Review

So on Saturday we went and saw Untracable. We were trying to see I Am Legend, but thats been out for a while and is harder to find. Anyways we saw this movie and I liked it. Its not like i'd see it again but it was a good movie. Some people would say this was a horror but it wasn't that scary, just more distrubing because of how real it seemed. There are sickos out there that would do stuff like this. Anyways on a scale of 1-10 i'd give it a 6.5. It was a good movie and I didn't regret seeing it. It had actions and a good story that kept me involved. But it was just ok. I wouldn't see it again. The end was dramatic and pretty good, but it seemed just like...ok so thats it. I think the thing I thought was interesting was what it was saying about society and the sickness we have with things like death and murder and the gruesome things. So maybe a rent when its on video and hold off from theaters.

Lost...season 4 opens *Possible Spoilers* but not really

Ok so i used to do a review thing on lost on another website for fun and i decided i would try that here on my blog. Just know that i'm not going to reveal alot of stuff...but this maybe a spoiler for some. Well the night started with a clip recap episode. It was a good thing to start with since the last episode was so long ago. It was acutually in May...but yeah anyways we are given that recap episode. Then it starts...well Lost has done something a little differnt and i really liked it. They are doing Flash Fowards instead of Flash Backs...what happened to them after the call...after they got off the island...or what could potentially happen. Now we are at a crossroads with the show. We once were trying to figure out the past...how they got there, what they have done...who they have conections with. Now we are looking ahead. We got that at the end of last season and i believe that is going to make the show fresh. So we are basically seeing what happened from right where we were left last season. In typical Lost fashion they answer a questions or two just to have about a hundred more pop up. Anyways we are left with a good cliff hanger for next week. Like i said i won't be going in too deep i don't want to spoil everything. I just wanted to share this. I was looking up quotes just randomly. I wanted to print some out and put them on my wall at work so i have something to look at and look to, so i can be constantly reminded of why i live. I decided to look up some Milton quotes since Milton is the man...Half of the quotes i found were so amazing but a little long and a little hard to understand. That's John Milton for ya. anyways i found this quote and it just hit me like a golf club to the side of my head.

"We read not that Christ ever exercised force but once; and that was to drive profane ones out of His temple, not to force them in." - John Milton

Wow...That's all i could think and this thought has been on my mind all day. I've been think of church and people who claim to be Christians. Who claim to do works in Christ's name. I think of the anti-abortion crowd...the anti-gay crowd. What they are doing out there. They are using force to tell these people they are going to hell. They are using methods that's Christ would have never used. Now I'm not saying abortion is good, because i firmly believe it is murder, but to hold a sign screaming and yelling at some girl who maybe 16 and not know whats she's really doing, someone who probably needs to be loved and reached out too. To see that on T.V., in the news, anywhere, saddens me. This goes a little bit with my sex drugs and rock n roll topic of beating people with the bible, who don't realize the need for a savior yet. The same for the anti-homosexual crowd. i see them and i just get sad, because is this the way we treat God's creations. They are sinners just like the rest of us, so why can't they ask for forgiveness and repent from there sins. I know a lot won't and its easy to attack them, but attacking them isn't going to get them to change there ideas and come to the Lord. Not to be so cliche but where is the Love. The Love that God showed all his people. The love that believers need to show. We must stand strong for what we believe, but we gotta show the world what true love is. That love that God showed us by giving us His Son. Sending him to be born to die. Its Christmas time, maybe now would be a good time to really show someone how amazing Christ birth was...a virgin birth of a Boy who would grow up into a Man that would die on a cross so that we could one day pray for Him to save our lives. And he came back to life and lives.

Anyways i know the Milton quote talks about forcing unbelievers into the church...not really bringing them in, but one thought sparked others in my mind and i just felt like a little ranting.

My Wife

This month is Alisons birthday...i just wanted to say something about her...I love her a lot. I am so thankful for her in my life. I really think she is what a wife should be. She has been my helper, she has been fully suportive of what i do, she never discourages me and always encourages me. She makes me a better person. I strive to be better for her, so that i can hopefully make her better, even though i can't think how. She makes me yummy food and helps me be healthy. We are a non-religious orginization and we teach that there are many physical, emotional, and social reason t0 wait to have sex before marriage. So lately thats whats been on my mind. The reasons to abstain from things. I have a onetruth shirt thats has pictures depicting in a clean way, Sex Drugs and Rock 'n' Roll. it says:

"in a world filled with so much "pleasure", we feel so much dissatisfaction. could it be that we were meant to experience something far greater?"

Now this is a christian company and the message is talking about God and how he made us and wants us to experiance Him, His Son which is far greater than all the worldly pleasures out there. I was thinking how to relate this message though...to a world that doesn't want to hear about God. A world who doesn't understand "the bible says" or "God said". What good is it to teach them something they don't believe? don't get me wrong...teaching the bible is top of my "Things to Do" list. But to tell a sinner the bible says so...is stupid, unless they understand the need for the bible, for a savior, for a loving God in there lives.

So i've been thinking of this message...Sex Drugs Rock and Roll...Why wouldn't it appeal to a world that sees these things as things that the rich people do...things that the popular people do...things famous people do. Watching t.v. and seeing whos in the news it doesn't surprise me that these things appeal to most people. SOOO what can we do to teach this world that these things are empty? What do we do to show the world that theres something more out there? I don't have the answers...i'm still trying to figure it out. But for now i'm out there. I'm out there trying to show people the need for a savior...and if this message fails i try to show them that worldly things will fade and be gone...so i don't know...i just wanted to share these thoughts so thanks for listening.

I am not a Christian writer

Ok so this is a post on Andrew Schwab (lead singer/song writer for Project 86) He does writings and i really thought this was a good one...i wanted to link it but it wouldn't link so i'll post it.

"
I AM NOT A CHRISTIAN WRITER - 2007-10-02

Literature should be unconsciously, rather than deliberately and defiantly Christian. –T.S. Eliot.

Perhaps this is a tired issue. But something tells me it’s not. Maybe it’s the discussions I see and hear on a weekly basis, or maybe it’s the emails I read everyday. Regardless of the where and how, the debate in popular Christian culture over the function and spiritual motive of artists is a tepid one. And it is as much a question of the medium as it is the message, the motive as much as the messenger. And what everyone seems to want to know is, “Is _____ a Christian _______?” (insert band name, author name, painter name, etc., and their appropriate medium accordingly).

This question has been posed for ages, and in no way am I qualified to give a complete answer. Nor do I desire to.

“Art Tends to show rather than tell.”

What I take this to mean is this: it is the power of the creative medium, in creativity and ambiguity itself, to ask questions, to evoke thought, rather than just give answers. It is my fervent opinion that the ultimate role of the artist in culture is to provoke a response in the audience, to cause the listener, the viewer, to wrestle with concpets of life, love, regret, salvation, and eternity so that the author himself fades into the background of the work itself, thus leaving the greater question with the mind of said audience.

The most powerfully Christian messages I have ever experienced in songs, poems, and writings, have been the ones that came not from explicitly Christian sources (who inherently present somewhat biased artifacts of worldview in most instances), but sources which to me seemed objective. After all, when I hear an artist otherwise considered “secular” speak of encountering the one and only true God, it is to me the greatest evidence of all that he is at work in all things, not just the limited scope of Christian subculture.

Can a christian musician write only christian songs? Can he not write about everyday life? Can he play characters in songs which might not reflect his own worldview in order to illustrate a greater point? Is there a such thing as a Christian artist? Is there a such thing as a Christian pilot, mortician, or cab driver? Is God not the God of all things, including the trivial, the mundane? Consider not the messenger only, nor only the motive. The artist himself is only one part of the equation. Consider the medium as well as the message. Consider the fact that God speaks through the confused minds of unbelievers if he so chooses, along with believers. After all, he is the God of all things…

“It should be remembered that art created to change minds often actually does more to bolster the spirit of those already in agreement than it does to convert opponents. The antiwar songs of the 1960s put into words the ideas of the young people opposed to American engagement in Vietnam, but had no reported impact on the policy makers inside the Pentagon.” –Steve Turner.

Peace.

AS"

heres his website http://www.andrewschwab.com/writings.php?id=30&writing_cat=1

Project 86

Ok so this is a banner for one of my other favorite bands, Project86. Basically i will be working with kids teaching how to be peer councilors. Its really awesome and I'll be able to use some of what i learned at masters in this job. I really feel blessed that this opportunity has come up for me. Gods timing is definitely perfect. The Job was perfect for me in that it is working with kids, teaching them something i totally believe in. So pray for me that I'll be able to do my best out there teaching them why they should wait for mariage. I will be able to teach a lot of kids. Pray for me that i will impact these kids in some way and be able to build a relationship with them. If you want to check out the site its at http://www.free-to-be.net/. A show simply entitled Heroes. It was about people who found out they had powers. Kind of like X-Men. People living ordinary lives, finding out they could do extrordinary things. Anyways it has become my favorite show and its in its second season... as i write the show is on. This show takes us back to the events immediatly following what happened at the end of season one...anyways i just wanted to let people know this show is awesome and if you haven't watched it you need to! Its a game that came out for the original Xbox and has evolved with its 3rd game. Halo 3 on the Xbox 360. I loved the first halo...the second one was ok...never got to into it for some reason…maybe it was because I didn’t have Ken Evans to make me play instead of going to chapel…(its true I ditched chapel to play halo with him…) The latest Halo I was very excited about. Now I was lucky to have an awesome father in law who got me my Xbox 360 which enabled me to get Halo 3. So anyways I pre-ordered it in May and it didn’t get here until about a week later, so I rented it to play it (yeah my wife found a copy!) So I started to play…didn’t get to play the story mode because at that time my friend Tim Fulton was down from Seattle so we played against each other a lot. And Andrew came over as well to play. And I didn’t have my live account up yet. Eventually I got to play the story mode and let me say…the story is awesome. I started it on Heroic because that the way the game was meant to be played…or so they say. Anyways awesome story. Now I got a live account and started playing online. So this is what truly makes the game. The story has enough to keep you playing. If you’re a freak like me there are a lot of achievements to get through the story mode, but online is where its at. It reminds me of good old college days with Ken setting up the movie room and Xboxes in at least 3 rooms…I think there was 4 but we had 3 linked. So anyways a fund game where you play and meet people all around the world. I have a friend in Japan that I play with. I have friends from coast to coast…so anyways its kind of lame but it’s a game that I love!

May Dog

Ok so one of the first things we did when we moved up here was get a dog. We adopted this puppy from the pound. We walked by her and she wasn't anything special. She was kind of quite and just laying there. We actually missed her the first time but walking back I looked at her. She looked kind of sad just laying there. We wanted to checked her out so we asked if we could see her out of her kenal. She was out and she just became alive. She wasn't crazy just happy. She was smelling everything and just having a blast. We had to put her back. When she was back she put her little nose under the gate just wanting to touch us...we had to take her home at that point. Now we wonder what life was like before her. She is out lil baby...out lil Mayby! She is 100% love! She is our May. Our MayDog. When we are sad she makes us happy and comforts us. She love to cuddle and loves to be where we are. Let me say that getting a pound puppy is the greatest thing...well for us it is...i'm sure adopt children is better but if your not ready for that dogs are where its at!

Napa Valley

So I live in NorCal now. I still have a SoCal heart though. You can take the boy out of SoCal...well you can guess the rest. anyways we live up in the Sonoma Valley. You may know the area because its know for the wineries and vineyards. Living here we are also very close to Napa. Napa is another region that is know for famous wineries and vineyards. Before moving here i had been to Napa...never...no reason to go. But now that we live here we have been there at least 4 or 5 times. This last weekend we just went there to visit some friends and hang out. let me just say that right now the area is beautiful. The vineyards are all colors still. Some patches of red and yellow mixed in with the greens...If you have a chance to come up here i really suggest that you do. There’s a lot of cool little restaurants and shopping areas around Napa as well. Along the main road there’s is a lot of cool wineries as well. If you like wine this is definitely the place to go. Lots of cool little wineries with great wines. So if you in the neighborhood look me up and we can hang out in Napa.

Operation Christmas Child

http://www.samaritanspurse.org/OCC.asp?MPGID=1 Heres the web site for this but just to let you know this is a program to give presents to children all around the world. There may other ones like this but its one tha me and Alison are involved in. What you do is take a shoe box (or a container that size) and fill it with presents for a child. I know this isn't much but it'll make some kid happy and give them a chance to experiance christmas like kids here in the states. So if your looking for something to get involved in this is something i think i can recomend.

Saturday Mornings

Ok so my new Saturday morning routine, is walking to Starbucks with my wife and dog. We love waking up a little later than normal and just taking a nice walk and getting something yummy to eat and drink. It’s a nice time to talk as well. The week can be crazy so this is a nice little treat. To just walk and not worry about anything. To just enjoy the things and the morning God has given us. It also kind of fun to have something to look forward to every Saturday. So I just wanted to share that with everyone and even suggest to people to do something fun, have time with the ones you love. Just set aside something to look forward to. Anyways I’m done.
